  PAUL EVANS STUDIO SCULPTED BRONZE CABINET (1972)Paul Evans Sculpted bronze cabinet, Paul Evans Studio 1972 Wood, epoxy overlay, applied bronze composition 77 1/2" x 24" x 24" Signed "PE 72" to the underside. The two-door cabinet contains hidden handles on front and opens to reveal a mirrored bar with three glass shelves above a lower sliding two-door compartment. The interior is lighted from the top. The cabinet was reviewed and authenticated by Dorsey Reading, Evans' primary studio collaborator, who stated that Paul Evans Studio produced only approximately 25 cabinets of this type. The signed letter of authentication will be included with the cabinet. To our knowledge, only four examples have been offered at auction in the last 50 years and each one was unique in it's detailing. Literature: Paul Evans: Designer & Sculptor , Head, ppg. 55 Condition The sculpted exterior is in good condition, noting a horizontal hairline around the base and a 1/2" flake along the bottom of the cabinet on the left side. The interior mirrors show some signs of aging. There is a translucent plastic light diffuser at the top of the interior which is warped due to heat proximity. The lighting is tested and working, noting one area of the wiring reinforced with electrical tape.
