After Sabatino de Angelis (Italian b.1838) "Fallow Deer". Bronze figurine after the antique Pompeian sculpture attached to a rectangular bronze base with overall dark brown patina. Unsigned apprx. 8"T.The inspiration for this sculpture came from the discovery of two deer in the ruins of the Villa of the Papyri a private house in the ancient city of Herculaneum.
