RED PAINTED FIRKIN 19th c. Wooden Firkin, red painted surface with bentwood swing handle, lap joint wood bands, tongue and groove staved sides, 11 3/4" high, 12" diam. Missing one body band, paint losses.

RED PAINTED FIRKINAn antique red-over-white painted firkin. Stave construction container with fingered bands bound with iron tacks and staples. Paint is extensively worn and chipped. Has a bentwood bale handle attached with wooden pegs.
Measures 9.75 inches tall and 10.25 inches in diameter at the base.
Condition
Firkin is in good condition. Paint is worn through in spots with extensive crackle and chipping.

LARGE BLUE FIRKIN, 19TH C.A large
LARGE BLUE FIRKIN, 19TH C.A large 19th century light blue painted firkin. Stave constructed with single finger laps and a slight taper towards the top. Firkin has a bentwood handle with wooden peg attachment.
This is the second largest in a group of six graduated firkins.
Firkin measures 14 inches tall by 14.5 inches in diameter.
Condition
Firkin is in good condition. There is some paint wear around raised edges. Some of the bands are loose from wood shrinkage.
