Advice on Marriage by Benjamin Franklin originally written in 1745 this being a 1925 Limited Edition Illustrated by Clara Tice with Tipped in Signature Philadelphia: A Franklin Collector 1925. 8vo full red leather with gilt stamped cover and interior edge tooling five raised bands. Etched and colored by Clara Tice engraved and printed by Harry Cunningham both of Tice-Cunningham Press Brooklyn NY. Limited to 50 copies this being numbered 31. Illustrated title page text pages with decorative borders and six illustrations all having tissue guards the illustrations with red conte crayon titles. A pencil signature with little nude drawing of Clara Tice is tipped in on a fly page in the back of the book dated August 1927.

PAIR OF AMERICAN PORTRAITS IN PERIOD GOLD FRAMES The Parson and His Wife, ca. 1830s, oil on canvas, unsigned; he is depicted with his arm resting on his secretary, near a penholder, the shelves full of Biblical study books like "Clarke's Commentary". He is seated in an upholstered chair, backed by wine colored drapes, looking directly at the viewer with a smille flickering across his features. His wife is simply coiffed and dressed, having a fringed silk shawl over her shoulders, her place held in a book with a forefinger. Housed in the original matching gilt cove frames, OS: 34" x 31", SS: 28 1/2" x 24 1/2", cleaned, relined and restored.
