Published May 12 1794 by Laurie & Whittier London successors to Robert Sayer. Hand-colored. 22'' x 29'' framed to 27'' x 34''. Plate impression measures 18'' x 21.5''. A 3'' x 4'' printed paper label is affixed to the upper margin from the Dublin nautical goods supplier McAuley & Hughes. Condition: Scattered minor stains. One 2.5'' vertical tear at upper center.

Group of 36 and 38-Star American Parade Flags Lot of 3 glazed cotton printed parade flags mounted on wooden dowels including: one 36-star flag with stars configured in 6/6/6/6/6/6 horizontal rows 11.5 x 14 in. Nevada was admitted as the 36th state in 1864; and two 38-star flags with stars configured in 7/6/6/6/6/7 horizontal rows 6.75 x 9.75 in. Colorado was admitted as the 38th state in 1876. Condition: Previous owners?inked notes on dowels; few scattered stains on flags.?

[Flags and Patriotic Textiles] 38-Star American Parade Flags Lot of 7 glazed cotton printed parade flags each with 38 stars configured in 7/6/6/6/6/7 horizontal rows six flags measuring 6.75'' x 9.75'' affixed to 18'' dowels one measuring 17.5'' x 12'' affixed to a 23.5'' dowel. Colorado was admitted as the 38th state in 1876 and no other states were admitted until the Dakotas in 1889. These flags were found inside the walls of a building in Iowa which was built in 1884 during demolition for remodeling. Condition: Scattered stains and color loss. Each with a horizontal ''crease'' or ''pinch'' under the topmost stripe.

TWO SMALL 19TH CENTURY UNITED STATES FLAGS The first a thirty-star flag recognizing Wisconsin's admission to the Union in 1848; the second flag with forty-two stars marks the admission of the Dakotas, Montana and Washington to the Union in 1889; both flags of printed cotton and mounted in conforming painted wooden frames (largest frame 17 x 20 in.).

38-Star American Parade Flags Lot of four 38-star American parade flags including three 7 x 10 in. flags on 18 in. dowels (one broken to 11 in.) and a 12 x 18 in. flag on a 22.5 in. dowel.? All are printed or stenciled on glazed cotton with the stars configured in horizontal rows of 7/6/6/6/6/7.? Colorado was admitted as the 38th state in 1876 and no other states were admitted until the Dakotas in 1889.? These flags were found inside the walls of a building in Iowa which was built in 1884 during demolition for remodeling. Condition: All with scattered stains and minor creases and a more noticeable crease along the top white stripe.? Largest especially distressed at lower right.

Japanese WWII National Flags Lot of Three Lot of three flags two are in black wooden frames and the third is unframed. First flag measures 42 x 28" and is signed by the Americans that captured it. Second measures 31 x 27" is a prayer flag with Japanese wishes of good luck. Third is a Japanese national flag measuring 28 x 40". Condition: Very good. First has some silk damage a little scorching on the second.
