Martin was a self taught artist, assisting Mexican artist David Alfaro Siqueiros (1896-1974) with a mural for a post office in Kellogg, Idaho. His works can be found at the Metropolitan Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Library of Congress among many others.
