VERY RARE 17TH CENTURY AMERICAN FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 60. NSN. Rare American made flintlock with 12-1/2" oct bbl, tiny German silver front sight & a deep struck "D" cartouche in a sunburst at breech end. Top tang has a raised notch sight. Flat lockplate with square back edge & diamond shaped finial is marked "DYCK / NIEV AMSTERDAM". It has a long, slightly curved cock with plain swelled center iron trigger guard, no counter plate. Mounted in a beautiful reproduction tiger maple stock with raised carved ramrod channel, sgl guide for hickory ramrod with a new-made forend tip. Straight angled grip has a swelled butt with oval smooth iron cap. CONDITION: Iron is a smooth silver/gray patina with scattered spots of very fine pitting. Stock has been wonderfully artificially aged in keeping with age of gun. Metal appears to be all original, mechanics are fine. Rifle bore is moderately pitted. 4-56652 JR629 (5,000-7,000)

It is mounted in a walnut half stock with teardrop side panels, capped butt, single wedge, single set trigger with finger rest trigger guard that has a pineapple finial. It has gooseneck hammer & roller frizzen and the lockplate with safety is marked "H.W. Mortimer & Son". A silver-mounted reproduction Kentucky flintlock pistol by J. Lynch
The 12 1/4 inch browned octagonal barrel with seven groove rifling in .40 caliber. Top flat signed J. Lynch. Browned lock. Set-trigger. Silver furniture including triggerguard with acorn finial and floral engraving, faceted ramrod thimbles, spirally fluted fore-end cap, engraved barrel wedge escutcheons, scrolling counterplate, wrist escutcheon inscribed Bob/Bjorn and floral engraved buttcap. Full striped maple stock additionally adorned with engraved brass blossoms and an engraved spread eagle in front of the triggerguard and relief-carved with C-scrolls and blossom behind the barrel tang. Ramrod with elephant ivory tip.
Condition: Excellent.

SWEGER FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE. Cal. 44. Lancaster style flintlock Kentucky with 36" oct bbl, dovetailed brass front sight and fixed original rear sight. The top flat is marked "W. Sweger" and the lock is marked "T.P. Moore/Warranted". It has a very long, stepped integral top tang and D-shaped serpentine trigger guard/finger rest and a simple 4-pc filigree patchbox with brass buttplate and faceted tang. It has a brass nosecap and two decorated guides with brass nosepipe, containing a reproduction ramrod with a long narrow brass sideplate with stepped ends. It is mounted in a straight grain maple stock with applied striping and a shallow cheekpiece. The bbl is secured with three wedges. CONDITION: Good to very good, old reconversion, missing the set part of the trigger. The iron retains a dark brown patina with heavy pitting on the lockplate and hammer. The stock has a repaired multiple break in the wrist and retains most of an old refinish. Mechanics are a little soft. Bright shiny bore. 4-53465 JR962 (1,000-1,500)

BEAUTIFUL MINIATURE CENTER HAMMER FLINTLOCK MUFF PISTOL. Wonderful miniature, probably by Dyson of England. It is 1-15/16" overall length, made of solid gold with steel hammer and frizzen with ivory stock. It is a scale miniature of a venerable English screw bbl pistol, popular in the 18th century and has nicely decorated side panels with trophies of flags, a tiny number "2" on the bbl and frame, with reproduction proofs on the bottom of the frame. It is complete with a fixed representation of the sliding safety. Accompanied by a small box, not the original case. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Hammer and frizzen are bright.
