DUTCH CISTERN BAROMETERAmsterdam circa 1820, the parquetry inlaid mahogany case showing a broken arch pediment centred by an urn shaped finial, over a glazed panel fronting two engraved pewter scales bearing maker's signature for Antonio Peia (1769-1845), engraved with weather indicators in Dutch and fronted by a thermometer on the left and a barometer in the centre, the base showing a boxed reservoir raised on twin peg supports. Measuring 49.75" high x 12" wide. Contents & functionality unknown at time of cataloguing. This lot must be picked up.

FOUR SEVRES ROYAL PRESENTATION PLATES, 1784 Set of four Sevres (French 1740), gilded soft paste porcelain plates, 1784, having a gilded Bleu Celeste lip with reserves containing various floral sprays encircling a maroon roundel framed by a band of pearls surrounding three roses, marked to the underside with interlaced L's, three black and one blue, enclosing the date letters 'gg' for 1784, decorator's marks for Antoine-Toussaint Cornaille (French 1735-1812), and two with gilder marks for Michel-Barnab Chavaux (French, active Sevres 1752-1788). Note: These plates are likely from a 288 piece dinner service presented by Louis XVI to his brother-in-law Archduke Ferdinand of Austria, Governor of Lombardy, on June 12, 1786. A soup plate from that service is held in the collections of the Musee du Louvre, Department of Decorative Arts, OA 11916. Approximate dimensions: dia. 9.375".

In good condition with some scattered spots and fade line discolorations in the lighter fabric. This would be perfect to use to finish an old quilt or take apart for antique yardage.
