SILVER. (3) PC. AMERICAN W. FORBES COIN SILVER Tea set. Includes a mid 19th century 3 piece American W. Forbes coin silver tea service with an Irish Chippendale style motif. Includes a teapot, creamer, and lidded sugar bowl. All items with repousse floral embellishments, Irish knees, paw and ball feet, and budding floral form finials to lidded items. Sugar bowl is embellished with lion masks and handles. Stamped to underside, " W. Forbes New York". Total approx. weight of all items is 77.73 troy oz (gross). From a Chappaqua, NY estate. Dimensions: teapot measures approx. 13" h. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. Bottoms of feet exhibit cracks in the silver and losses that are not visible or effect the use of items.

PRESENTATION SMITH AND WESSON MODEL NO. 1 SECOND ISSUE REVOLVER. .22 short caliber seven-shot cylinder 3 3/16'' octagonal barrel blued and silver-plated finish rosewood grips. S/n 24856. The backstrap is engraved ''M.S. Forbes Co. H 25th Reg. Mass. V. from J.H. Southwick.'' Private Forbes enlisted in September 1861 and served until his regiment mustered out in October 1864. The 25th Massachusetts spent most of its time in North Carolina and Virginia. Retains about 50% original bluing and plating marks and engraving still clear action smooth bore fairly clean.
