Edward Aldridge was one of the most highly respected basket makers of his time his apprentices included William Plummer. On his death in 1765 his widow Elizabeth continued the business using her own unregistered mark. Provenance: The armorial shows the arms of Forester impaling Townshend and may relate to Lt Col Cecil Forester (c.1737-1774) and his wife Anne Townshend (1741-1825).
