Includes gold filled watch chain. From the Estate of Paul Rodenbaugh, once chair of the Historical and Architectural Review Board for the West Chester borough and the author of five books on the area, and lectures on West Chester history.

Dated 1831 Sterling Fusee Double Cased WatchA fine Fusee sterling double cased pocket watch and matching fob manufactured by H.Beurn watch and clock maker R.Y.E. possibly the city additional information on paper label reads tempus fugit the case with three hallmarks including lion passant a zero within a hallmark and a head of an animal unknown to us additionally stamped IMH the watch stamped IG with two hallmarks including lion passant the watch fob appears to have the same hallmarks in two or three locations white porcelain dial with roman numerals the watch hands appear to be rose gold but not tested the movement is marked Henry Bourn R.Y.E. serial number 46792 the movement appears to be fined tooled brass with beautiful filagree work the watch measures 3.25'' H including the post and ring the outer case measures 2.5'' D and the watch fob measures 21.5'' L. Total weight of the watch and fob is 248 grams. Condition physically the watch appears to be in excellent condition the fob slightly tarnished mechanically the watch is not running for reasons unknown to us a fabulous and early piece Private collection Gregory Michigan

JOSEPH JOHNSON 18K FUSEE POCKET WATCH, CIRCA 1800Antique fusee pocket watch, circa 1800s, marked to inside back case and inside works cover with 18k mark, town mark of Newcastle or Chester with a crowned lion’s head and makers mark of TH/JH, possibly Thomas and John Hilsby. Works are signed Josp. Johnson, Liverpool, 4082. Face and inner case heavily chased, decorated with white, rose and yellow gold acanthus leaves and a cornucopia of flowers. Weight of .41 ozt or 137.3 g. Provenance: descended in the Ball family (of Mary Ball Washington fame).

FRENCH FUSEE IN ENAMELED 18K GOLD CASE 42mm Circa 1850, verge escapement, white porcelain dial with all chapters represented in arabic numerals, all minute hash marks present. Gold gilt skeleton hands, Watch runs, all pivots are fine. Could use overhaul as service history is unknown. Pierced and decorated balance cock with diamond end stone. Will require small key to wind. Winding arbor is about .045" square. Case tests 18k, there are indistinguishable hallmarks inside of the case back. Enameled flowers along edge of bezel. Outside Case back has pastoral scene of two young lovers. 50.8 grams total weight. Fine hairlines in porcelain at 1 and 3. Glass domed crystal. UPDATE: per request timed overnight. Running fast but there is a dial adjust regulator. For its age the watch is strong runner.

FUSEE CLOCK, CHINOISERIE CASE18th Century English bracket or table clock in Japanned case, with gilt chinoiserie style decoration; bombe style top with brass handle and gilt pineapple form finials, over a case with arched original silvered and engraved brass dial signed William Jourdain, London, and applied pierced gilt spandrels, all on a molded base with bracket feet. Brass fusee works with bell strike, crown escapement. 20"H x 11 1/2"W x 7"D. Circa 1725-1750.
Condition:
Works show wear and minor expected refurbishments. Significant wear to face, scattered abrasions/wear to case. Front glass panel and 1 circular side glass panel are replaced. No lock, missing key. Rear back right foot missing.
