Titled and dated to the reverse, along with a signed exhibition tag for the Third Annual Waterloo Municipal Galleries Art Show (Waterloo, Iowa), 1967.
Nick Vaccaro was a professor and chairman of the drawing and painting department at the University of Kansas. As an artist, Vaccaro was the recipient of purchase awards from the San Francisco Museum of Art (1958), the Dallas Museum of Fine Art (1961), and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, and his work has additionally been exhibited in the Nelson Gallery of Art, Oklahoma Arts Center, Wichita Art Museum, and Dallas Museum for Contemporary Arts.
Condition
Mildew across the lower half of the reverse of the canvas. The canvas is slightly depressed in the top corners.

Another more shallow loss (slightly larger) in the left area of the circle which shows cracquelure. A 2-mm. loss in the grey area just above the turquoise tree trunk at left. Minor soiling at center right near plant. Otherwise this work is in very good condition. The back of the frame has been covered with paper and stamped several times with the artist''s name. In one place, the word "Title _____" is stamped and ''South'' has been filled in by hand but it is unclear whether or not this is the artist''s hand.
