Gavina (Italy) produced the Wassily chair beginning in 1962 until Knoll International purchased Gavina and the rights to all of its licensed designs in 1968. (In fact, it was Dino Gavina who first dubbed the chair the "Wassily.") Condition Repairs to the leather and stitching on each chair. Resting on a stepped octagonal base. The Warwick Vase is an ancient Roman marble vase with Bacchic ornament that was discovered at Hadrian's Villa, Tivoli about 1771 by Gavin Hamilton, a Scottish painter-antiquarian and art dealer in Rome, and is now in the Burrell Collection near Glasgow in Scotland.
