George Paice (British 1854 - 1925) "Frigate". Horse portrait oil on canvas signed lower left and titled. Horse facing left with lucky white hoof. Canvas back stamped "J. Sheers 56 Church Street Croydon" the same city where the artist was laid to rest. Paice is best known for his sporting paintings of horses and dogs many of which were commissioned. In a wood frame with gilt liner. Image size approx. 8-1/2" x 11-1/2". Overall with frame approx. 15" x 18".
