Lined, crackle, cupping, old retouch mostly in dark aareas, some in sky and face, up to 20 percent of surface affected, yellowed varnish; frame with abrasions and losses to gesso.

The feeble to support, against the strong. To sooth the wretched, and the poor to feed. Will cover many an idle foolish deed."; front with oval cartouche containing the image of a seated George Washington in his Masonic apron surrounded by a variety of symbols; 8 7/8" high, 9" x 6". In reverse text, as it would be printed from the plaque, laid to board long ago, 12 1/2" x 8 1/2" sheet of laid paper, foxed, heaviest at edges, edge loss, text fully intact.
