The blade retains much of the original finish. Toward the bottom end of the blade is some finger staining and grease marks from where it has been pulled from the scabbard. Most of the original brown finish is intact on ?the scabbard and is a nice example.   NAZI GERMAN RAD ENLISTED MANS DAGGER, WW2 A German Nazi RAD enlisted man's dagger, Ewer, World War 2, with sheath. Motto etched on blade: "Arbeit Adelt" (Labor Enobles). Stag handle grips, attached by two screws on each side. Crisp motto, bladespine thick with blood gutter on each side. Swastika appears within the RAD spade on the lower scabbard fitting. Originally introduced in 1936 and issued to officers of the Reichs Arbeits Dienst (National Labor Corps). Two small notches etched in the metal on one side just below the guard. Etched in blade above the guard: "Ges. Gesch Original". Blade length: 9 3/4" (24.7 cm), Overall: 15 3/4" (40 cm) Condition: good condition overall for age and use.
