LORENZO GHIGLIERI (AMERICAN 1931-2020) A SCULPTURE, “LO...LORENZO GHIGLIERI (American 1931-2020) A SCULPTURE, “Lookout,” 2000, cold painted cast bronze on wood plinth, signed, and dated at base, "Lorenzo Ghiglieri," and with edition number 3/475; height: 26", width: 14 1/2", depth: 20", on stand height: 50", width: 20", depth: 24". Note: Lorenzo Ghiglieri sculpted, painted and preserved American frontier artwork. His bronzeworks are held in prestigious collections including The White House, Washington D.C., Juan Carlos I, King of Spain, and Luciano Pavarotti, among others. He was born in Los Angeles, later served in the Korean war, shortly after was commissioned as a combat illustrator for the United States Government, even painting gifts of state. He chose a life of solitude as a frontiersman in Alaska. The present lot of two cold painted rams cautiously ascend a rocky terrain.
