SARAH KNOUSE (AMERICAN) "GHOST OF" SCULPTUREDESCRIPTION: A Sculpture by American artist Sarah Knouse titled "Ghost of" comprised of an antique wooden chair and wicker caning.
Sarah Knouse is a sculptor, designer, and arts educator. She holds an MFA from Hunter College, and a BFA from Pennsylvania State University; with post-baccalaureate research and teaching work completed at Bucknell University. Sarah has exhibited her sculptures internationally, including a 2012 sculptural installation project hosted by the Hockney Gallery at The Royal College of Fine Art in London. She has also exhibited at the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn, Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, Vox Populi Gallery in Philadelphia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, The Cultural Council of Palm Beach, and has been a featured finalist of the Young Sculptors Competition in Oxford, Ohio both in 2009 and in 2013. She is honored to be chosen as the sole recipient of the 2015 South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship for Visual Artists from Palm Beach County. Her studio is located in south Florida.

A hooded skeleton figure surrounded by ghosts, black cats, a serpent, and a floating skull fills the upper two-thirds of the poster, with Thurston's name prominent in the banner below. Old folds, slight rippling, repair at top center edge. 28 x 42". B+. A capable magician in his own right, Will Rock traded on the popularity and familiarity of Thurston’s name for years. Along with a substantial purchase of illusions from Thurston’s brother and daughter, Rock also bought the rights to the Thurston name to help promote his performances.
