RARE 12 RED ROYAL DOULTON BURSLEM
RARE 12 RED ROYAL DOULTON BURSLEM DINNER PLATES: Elegant set of twelve Doulton Burslem (Royal Doulton) plates c.1891-1902, retailed by Davis Collamore & Co. The borders are deep red with an ornate raised paste, gilded design of floral vines and scrolls. This lovely shade of red is deep and rich. The centers are white with gold medallion and border. The back of 10 plates carries the Doulton Burslem mark for 1891-1902 and 2 others have the mark for 1902-1922. Measures 10.5'' in diameter. 4 plates are signed RA and 7 are signed RA followed by a number. The artist Robert Allen (RA), was responsible for decorating much of the Burslem ornamental ware by Doulton. 1 plate is signed HB for Herbert Betteley who specialized in painting intricate gold patterns.
CONDITION: Plates show normal wear in the gold trim and in the plate overall.

Teapot decorated with floral border on surface and lid with gold trim, "Miller" in gold on surface, base unmarked. Tea caddy decorated with floral motif and gold trim, unmarked. Teapot - 6 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W. Tea Caddy - 4 5/8" H x 3 3/4" W x 3" D. 5th-6th items: Pair of Limoges France plates featuring transfer printed portraits of Napoleon Bonaparte and Francois Joseph Lefebvre, one of Napoleon's Marshals of the Empire, each in gilt cartouche. Plates with fluted gilt rim. Maker's marks on base. 7 1/4" dia. 7th item: Frankenthal Germany yellow oval hinged porcelain box dresser with brass mounts,center transfer print of a couple with birds and open birdcage in a pastoral setting surrounded by gold painted decorations. Floral cartouches with gold painted decorations repeated around base, floral motifs repeated inside of box and inside of lid. Joseph Anton Hannong monogram on bottom. 5 1/4" H x 16 1/4" W X 7" D. Condition:
1st-2nd items: Gilt worn in numerous places and possible repairs to support and handles of one vase. 3rd and 4th items: Gold painted faded on teapot. Breaks and repairs on rim and bottom, 1" chip on rim on tea caddy. 5th-6th items: Overall very good condition. 7th item: Minor oxidation on brass mounts.

Writing instruments include a Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique mechanical pencil, with black and gold plated trim (5 1/2 in.), a Waterman Laureat fountain pen, blue marble laquered finish with black and gold trim, gold plated F nib (5 1/8 in.); a Sheaffer's fountain pen, U.S.A., 14K gold nib, brown plastic with white dot and gold plated trim (5 1/4 in.). All marked.

Crystal cut bottle's description from the 1918-1920 DeVilbiss catalog was: "The 7200 Series embodies only the finest grade of carefully selected clear crystal bottles, beautifully cut and engraved; the tops and fittings are gold plated and the Oblos covered with handmade net; Height 7 inches; each in attractive padded tip box."
