  A GROUP OF EIGHT DRESDEN PORCELAIN MONKEY BAND FIGURES,...A GROUP OF EIGHT DRESDEN PORCELAIN MONKEY BAND FIGURES, UNDERGLAZE BLUE MARKS, 19TH/20TH CENTURIES, each painted in polychrome colors and comprising a cellist, a bass fiddler, two bagpipe players, a drummer, one French horn player, a trumpeter, a violinist, verso underglaze blue broadly crossed swords mark, the tallest: 5 3/4"; the shortest: 4 1/4". Condition: Each has expected gilding wear and surface buildup throughout, two have restored bases, one violinist has the neck chipped, all of the black tricorn hats have later overpainting, tiny chips and scratches, one bagpiper has repaired arm. The violinist is missing the end of his bow hidden by right hand and the underglaze blue mark has been partly effaced. The yellow britches bagpipe player has a restored base with a solid and unglazed underside with a very small (1/4") blurry blue crossed swords mark and impressed "35," the bass cellist has a restored and filled base with double incised lines and "2."
