Gordon Hope Grant (American, 1875-1962), Departing from the Port, lithograph; 8 7/8" x 11 1/2"; pencil signed lower right. Born in San Francisco, Grant is known for his etchings and paintings of marine subjects. At age 12, he sailed around Cape Horn to London to study art at Heatherly and Lambeth. He returned to San Francisco in 1895 to work at the "Examiner."
