KOREAN GRAPEVINE MOTIF CERAMIC JAR 18TH C. Korean Joseon Era (1392-1897) rare ceramic 16.8 centimeter pottery jar vessel with a repeating rare underglaze copper-red grapevine pattern on a light celadon glazed ground, circa 18th century, with rare carved wood, possibly mogdan (Moutan Peony) lid and carved purple amethyst finial to match the motif of the jar, the lid with the finial commissioned in 18th century China. 6.5" H x 6" diameter. Provenance: Property from the Bentley family estate, Amherst, Massachusetts, USA. A similar piece is at the National Museum of Korea.
