Condition:
Photographic cards with scattered toning, foxing spots, creases, errant pencil marks, to be expected from age. Graphoscope with areas of natural age shrinkage, largest 1/4" x 1".

Cap. 4.V.23," a complex concentric table showing an interpretation of Ovid's Four Ages of Man broken down by the four seasons, four temperaments, celestial movements, Roman months, and zodiac calendar, among other 17th century scientific observations, ending with a thoughtful quotation by the Roman poet, Cornelius Galus (70BC -26BC), "Cuncta trahit fecum vertitque volubile tempus nec patitur certa currere quemque via," plate: 20 1/4" x 16 1/4". Note: The Baroque viewer consulted this map, which is organized according to temperament and birth date to guide the individual through foreseen maladies associated with this information, which are listed here as warnings for the viewer to utilize to maintain a long life.

Circa 1910. Overall dimensions, 8" high x 12" wide x 7" deep. Together with a hydrographic 'RUDE Star Finder & Identifier' consisting of a double sided plastic circular starbase template with 9 plastic overlays and instruction sheet, all within its original conforming leather-like portfolio, condition noted. Made in U.S.A, 1942. Measuring 9.5" diameter.
