PINE & WALNUT STOOL, ONTARIO, MID 19TH CENTURYAn Ontario stool with an ogee profile skirt and a country Chippendale foot, all in the original dry varnished surface. Mid 19th century, in pine and walnut, a storage compartment is concealed under the hinged upholstered top. De-accessioned from the Inverarden Museum in Cornwall in 1999, the footstool is from Grimsby, Ontario. H: 9.75"; W/L: 11.5"; D/P: 11". FRANCAIS: Petit banc avec large mouluration de la ceinture et pieds d'influence Chippendale, vernie d'origine, surface sèche. Milieu du 19e siècle, en pin et noyer, un compartiment est dissimulé sous le plateau capitonné à charnières. Retiré de la collection du musée Inverarden à Cornwall en 1999, provient de Grimsby, Ontario.

GRIMSBY FOOT STOOLA pine foot stool in dry original varnished surface and with a high cut-out bracket base from Grimsby, Ontario, de-accessioned in 1999 from the Inverarden Museum in Cornwall. The lid is hinged and each side has a raised diamond motif. The top is reupholstered. Very good condition. Circa 1840. H: 16"; Base: 17" square. Field Collection.
