TWO IRON AND BRASS COFFEE GRINDERSAmerican/Continental, 19th century, each with two reticulated cast iron wheels with turned wood crank handles centering grinder mechanism surmounted by brass funnel/top, each with single reservoir drawer, one marked "Enterprise M'F'G Co./Philadelphia", one marked "Goldenberg/Zornhoff/2" and "Goldenberg/Garantie", on square wood bases, approximately 28 x 21 x 17 in.
Provenance: From a Private Collection Assembled in Spain and Britain from the 1960s through the 1980s

surface dirt layer and accretion, rust and corrosion to iron elements, dents, discoloration, and verdigris to brass elements, wheels turn, wear and chips to bases

EAST TN GRINDSTAFF POTTERY, INCL. MINIATURE1st item: East Tennessee miniature stoneware jug, Grindstaff pottery. Inscription on side reads "LARSES, grinstall or grinstaff". William Grinstaff had a son, Lazarus, who was born in the 1880/1881 time period. Whether this jug is referencing a nickname for Lazarus is unknown at this time. 3 1/4" H. Late 19th century. 2nd item: East Tennessee stoneware crock, Grindstaff pottery. Incised band spacing below rim, tapered base edge, and applied lug handles typical for Grindstaff's work. Glaze with a heavy salt application, resembling a green hue. 6" H x 7" dia. Late 19th century. Provenance: Descendant of Grinstaff on maternal side of family, Blount Co., TN.
