ANDREW JOHNSON 3 PROMOTION DOCUMENTSThree documents promoting Charles R. Woods (1827-1885), including two by Brevet, Colonel and Brigadier General. (See Wikipedia article on General Woods here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_R._Woods) One document cites gallant and meritorious service in the battle of Chattanooga. All three are in good condition. It appears that at least one is actually pen-signed by Edwin Stanton. Johnson's signatures are almost certainly printed. Documents measure about 19-1/2" x 15-1/2".
