Halston (1932-1990) was active from 1957 with milliner Lilly Dache and after designing the pillbox hat that Jaqueline Kennecy wore to her husband's 1961 inauguration, he began to design women's wear. His clothes were worn by Elizabeth Taylor, Bianca Jagger and Liza Minnelli, among others.
