A HAMBURG AMERICAN CLOCK COMPANY LONGCASE OAK CLOCK, MA...A HAMBURG AMERICAN CLOCK COMPANY LONGCASE OAK CLOCK, MARKED, GERMAN, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the box and arch pediment with block reeded details above a long rectangular door, centering a circular glazed panel over a conforming glazed panel and ending with pierced lozenge and rectangles brass overlay, opening to a circular silvered metal dial with black Arabic numerals and black enameled hands, reversing to brass clockworks with the H.A.C. crossed arrows mark and suspending a thin wood stem pendulum with an adjustable thistle and sunflower detailed brass bob, with brass winding chains hung with filled brass canister weights, before a back wall mounted gilt cast iron and circular steel rod Sopra gong, over a lower case with hinged door centering a Secessionist style long stemmed floral bud and opening to a two shelf interior, raised on a conforming base with arched apron, includes one key. Height: 6' 4 3/4" Width: 20 1/4" Depth: 9 1/2"
Condition:
Case upper door opening/closing has rubbed top of lower case creating small abrasions, a few dings scattered about, small scuff marks on base area, a few pulled tape/label spots, and surface build up throughout. The silvered metal dial has worn areas, brass canister weights have dings, and are tarnished. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
