Second edition of John Hughes' revised text first issued in London 1718 lacking initial blank but with advertisements on verso of last leaf for books printed by M. Poulson. Jaggard 308 cites only 6 known copies of this edition; in its untrimmed full margined condition it may be unique. Without frontispiece which has been noted in one copy and with questionable authenticity. Ex-libris bibliographer Percival F. Hinton; pencilled bibliographical notes on front free endpaper; otherwise fine.

Inscription on tape verso indicates the painting was from Zealandia, an estate built by John Evans Brown, Asheville, North Carolina, 1908-1920. Private Collection, Arden, North Carolina.
