LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN BRACKET
LATE 19TH CENTURY GERMAN BRACKET CLOCK 11" thick x 16 ?" x 28"tall A silvered round circle segment has Roman numerals for all chapters, with fleur de lis between each chapter, at the two and one-half minute mark. All minute hash marks on a continuous circle below the chapter markers, triangular bold line at each chapter. Below the triangular markers, on center, are arabic numerals in increments of five. Blued fleur de lis style minute/hour hands. Above one o'clock lies the chime shutoff. Above eleven is the fine adjustment for pendulum length; to advance or retard the timing. The tombstone shaped dial area, is decorated with winged putto, and intertwinding floral vines. The solid oak case, at the front corners, has a pilaster like depiction of pan, flowing into a floral garland. Hoofed feet, several masks, and a highly decorated mask emanating sun rays, a possible religious reference, are on each flank of the lower case. A plinth rises from the case top, with a oil lamp shaped finial at the acme. At the four corners of the flat section of the case top, is a miniature version of the finial. All decorations are cast brass. The movement is rectangular heavy brass plates, with double hammers and double coiled flat wire gongs. The clock strikes on the hour and the quarter hour. Marked D.R. Patent, an indication of German manufacture. Comes with matching oak wall bracket, with stylized supports and brass mask and putto decorations.

RARE ABEL PANCHAUD FUSEE MUSICAL
RARE ABEL PANCHAUD FUSEE MUSICAL BRACKET CLOCK, LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY 9 ?" thick x 13 ¼" wide x 21" tall A multi piece silver dial has Roman numerals for all chapters, all minute hash marks identified on a continuous circle. Above the circle at each chapter, the hour is broken into five minute intervals, using arabic numerals. A dial above one o'clock is for different chime patterns, the chime mute is above twelve, day calendar above eleven. Decorative brass floral triangular shapes between one and two, three and five, seven and eight, nine and eleven; provide the illusion of a square dial. Blued minute/hour skeleton diamond shaped hands. The fusee is cable driven, utilizing large pillar plates 7 ?" wide x 93/16 long. The clock strikes every quarter hour. Eight hammers strike twelve bells to chime the quarters and hour. Behind the chime selector above one o'clock, lies a pinned cylinder, which trips fourteen hammers, to play a tune when a string is pulled on the side of the case at three. It is powered by winding the arbor at two o'clock, Pressure is held, the hammers move when slightly rotating the cylinder; the trip does not release. It may be a matter of lubrication. Marked Abel Panchaund on dial, as well as Samuel Audinet on the nicely decorated exposed pillar plate.

STEINWAY & SONS CUSTOM ART CASE
STEINWAY & SONS CUSTOM ART CASE MODEL O PIANOSteinway & Sons Hamburg Grand Model O piano, c.1929-1930, in custom painted Louis XVI style rosewood art case, tonal painted reserves of classical architectural ruins, bordered by trailing garlands and painted molding, signed Ponziani R. (?), raised on square tapered legs with bell flowers, joined by shaped stretchers, paper label at case interior R. Do.... Firenze, movement serial number 268790, case with number 939 BB to underside, top closed: approx 39"h, 57"w, 71"d, accompanied by corresponding bench, approx 20"h, 44"w, 20"d **Note: Steinway & Sons' archive indicates that this piano was shipped to Florence, Italy, on January 17, 1930** **Provenance: The Living Estate of Gale Galloway’s Villa Serena** Condition Report: SOUNDBOARD AND BRIDGES: Original soundboard, with several cracks running the length of the soundboard. The ribs are not separating from the soundboard, but sound quality would normally be slightly diminished because of the cracks. Soundboard is securely glued to the rim at all points visible. No cracks or splits in the bridges. Good crown on the soundboard across all registers.
CASE and PEDAL ASSEMBLY:Professional after-market paintings cover all finished case pieces, which now appear faded and chipped. General color scheme is a light green. General theme appears to be classic Roman themes. Original design has not been altered on this "gate leg" model (six legs instead of three). Often these gate leg pianos were created to support the additional weight of a pneumatic player piano system. There is no evidence that this piano ever had a player piano system installed. Pedals and attached hardware (called "trapwork") is fully functional and all original.
ACTION and BACK-ACTION The action has been professionally restored previously (probably within the last twenty years) with non-Steinway parts. There areno markings on the wippens, hammers, or hammer shanks to identify the manufacturer of these parts. All of the action parts havebeen replaced and adjusted to professional standards, including the wippens, hammer shanks, hammer heads, and accompanyinghardware. The back action has been replaced and properly adjusted.
KEYS AND KEYTOPS: The keysticks are original but have been professionally restored with new front and balance railbushings and new backchecks, all non Steinway parts. The original ivory was either completely restored or replaced with new ivory. There are no cracks or splits in the ivory key tops. The black keys are original and may have been re-painted.
PINBLOCK, TUNING PINS, STRINGS AND HARDWARE: The pinblock is original but holding the tuning pins tight. It has not been replaced. During the previous restoration, new tuning pins, strings, and accompanying felt and hardware were replaced. The agraffes appear to be original, but restored and polished. The piano was found at 5% flat, evidence that the piano has been tuned within the last year.

A copy in unusually good
A copy in unusually good condition for its age of The English Governess At The Siamese Court (Boston, 1870) by Anna Harriette Leonowens (1831-1915). This memoir was the basis for Margaret Landon's 20th century novel Anna and the King of Siam, which in turn was the basis for the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical The King And I. This copy, bound in the original publisher's green cloth with gold lettering on spine and cover, seems to be a rare edition published by Fields, Osgood & Co. of Boston. Most American copies appear to have been published in Philadelphia. Slight foxing to frontispiece, tissue and title page.

Waretown, NJ, c. 1960
25 in. long
The livelihood for William “Bill” Hammerstrom Sr., who grew up and lived in Waretown, New Jersey, was that of a bayman. As clamming was seasonal work and Bill had six children to care for, he started working for Johnson Brothers Boatyard in Bayville and eventually began to build boats. Bill also became a charter boat captain and a duck hunting guide. He started carving decoy rigs from local cedar in the 1940s. It was a natural progression to supplement his income. The maker's brand is on the underside.
Original paint with even gunning wear.
