TWO HAMPSHIRE ART POTTERY VASES AND A HAMPSHIRE ART POTTERY LOW CUT-FLOWER BOWLTWO HAMPSHIRE ART POTTERY VASES AND A HAMPSHIRE ART POTTERY LOW CUT-FLOWER BOWL, Keene, NH, 1904-1914, all with impressed Hampshire Pottery marks and initial M in a circle for the designer Cadman Robertson, incised model nos. 90, 142 and 25, respectively, including a tall swollen cylindrical vase, matte charcoaled green glaze, h: 9 in.; an oviform vase with high collared neck, the neck matte solid blue glaze and the body frothy mottled blue glaze; and a circular bowl, the shoulder molded with foliage, matte mottled green glaze (3) Provenance: Estate of Ronald Sperling Literature: From 1904-1914, James S. Taft's son-in-law, Cadman Robertson, was the driving force and production manager at Hampshire Pottery. He was responsible for the development of more than 900 glazes, including Hampshire's coveted matte brown, red, blue and green glazes. The M in a circle mark is found on pieces designed by him and is said to be a tribute to his wife and Taft's daughter, Emoretta.
