1916 THE GOOD FAIRY SCULPTUREEarly pre Art Deco style statue of "The Good Fairy," dated 1916, manufactured by Chicago doll maker, Jessie McCutcheon Raleigh. Signed JMR on back of base. When viewed from the left side, the figure is a boy, from the right, it's a girl. Measures 11-1/2" high. Many of these statues have been made from the original sculpture, the vast majority of which lack any modicum of detail. This particular example has excellent detail, most notably in the face and hair. A couple of minor touches to the original paint. Outstanding condition overall. Mole & Thomas Human Statue of Liberty Photograph In negative ?18 000 Officers and Men at Camp Dodge ?DesMoins ?Ia. / Col.?Wm. Newman Commanding / Col. Rush S. Well Directing.?This copy 10 x 13.5 in. with much of left margin missing tear on right. But entire statue and all text intact. John D. Thomas and Arthur S. Mole published these images just before the first World War (ca 1918-1920). The popular silver gelatin photographs had Army and Navy enlisted men arranged in shapes of various patriotic symbols and figures including the Statue of Liberty. Others published by Mole and Thomas included the Liberty Bell a patriotic shield son in service flags American eagles and more. Monies from the sale of these was donated to families of veterans. Condition: Good.

2 PC. 19TH-C. POLYCHROME SANTOS STATUES: Two carved wood Santos statues each well carved with good draping of the robes. The smaller Jesus figure shows detailed features at the face, decorated in shades of green w/ traces of gilding at the robe's hem. With bare feet standing on an octagonal base, overall measuring approx. 15.5'' h x 5'' w x 4'' d. The taller St. Francis figure wears a black hooded robe and also shows traces of gilding. He stands upon a graduated rectangular base measuring approx. 17'' h x 5'' w x 4'' d.
CONDITION: Loss of material as pictured; wear commensurate with age.
