A FRENCH JAPY FRERES WORKS GOTHIC REVIVAL GILT BRASS TH...A FRENCH JAPY FRERES WORKS GOTHIC REVIVAL GILT BRASS THREE PIECE GARNITURE, NAPOLEON III (1852-1873), the pointed arches within a profusion of pierced foliate scrolls, the clock face with repousse center mounted with a plaque, "Jolivet a Brioude," within a hand enameled porcelain dial, within a laurel wreath encircled, beveled glazed window, flanked by clustered columns in appropriate orders, over two lancet windows flanked spires, raised on stepped legs, centering an Arabesque lion's mask, clockworks marked with number 4954 over an zero, and the stamp, "JAPY FRERES & CIE. MED. D'HONNEUR," over a number 6, height: 18", width: 9 1/4", depth: 5"; the pair of five light candelabra repeating the Gothic motif; height: 17", diameter: 9".
Condition:
Somne patina and surface wear, scratches, rouge within crevices, some minor breaks to soldered joints, some, repaired finials, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
