An early 20th century gilt brass hour repeating carriage alarm clock retailed by Charles Frodsham with enamelled dial and Henri Jacot movement striking half hourly on a gong movement number 17963 5.25in.; with travelling case Estimate ?300-500 Wear to gilding on handle and all around case some traces of gilding on handle otherwise all gone. Some oxidisation/lacquer flaws especially at foot of case. Escapement looks original. Hairline cracks from 8 to 3 and 4. alarm hand bent. Movement ticks briefly then stops. Repeat working. Height 5.25ins width 3.5ins depth 3ins- 1.68kg. Travelling case tatty with leather to top broken away. Key present.
