DIEGO RIVERA "HENRY FORD" COLORED PENCIL ON PAPERDiego Rivera (Mexico, 1886 - 1957) unframed colored pencil on paper drawing depicting Henry Ford and three other gentlemen, measuring 16" in height with 20" in width & signed top right "Diego Rivera". This study would have been done for the "The Detroit Industry" murals, a series of 27 fresco mural panels at the Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, MI. commissioned by the president of the Ford Motor Company, Edsel Ford (son of Henry Ford), and the director of the D.I.A., William Valentiner in 1932. Comes complete with a certificate of authenticity, please see photographs. Provenance: comes from the estate of a prominent Texas Collector. HENRY FORD COMMISSIONED HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE LAB CARVING...Henry Ford High School Science Lab carved wood diorama, 3 dimensional and to scale, depicting the interior view of Henry Ford's High School science lab. Signed lower right "Robert". This piece was commissioned by Ford in 1929 and was on display at The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village (The Edison Institute) until it was given to Anthony Ficetoli (1916 - 2010) upon his retirement from The Edison Institute in 1980.
