MICHEL HENRY (FRANCE, 1928- 2016) OIL PAINTINGDESCRIPTION: Michel Henry ( France, 1928- 2016) Oil Painting on Canvas depicting a vase with a bouquet of romantic roses over a clothered table near a veranda overlooking a parisian city landscape. Framed. Signed along the bottom right corner "Michel Henry". Michel Henry was a French Post War & Contemporary painter who was born in Langres in 1928 and has shown strong passion for drawing since his childhood. He attended the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and later studied with Narbonne, Georg, Chapelain-Midy and Legueult. In 1957 he became a member of the House of Descrates in Amsterdam and the following year was named member of the Casa Velasquez in Madrid. He was a member of the Salon d’Automne and also exhibited in the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the Salon Comparisons, and the Salon Terres Latines. Michel-Henry used bold colours in his compositions of flower still life, landscapes and marines. For his dedication and contributions to art and artists Michel Henry was awarded the Croix de Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in 1981. His works are in the collections of the French Government, the City of Paris , the Museum of Valence, Bogota and the Museum of Alencon. His work is collected internationally. CIRCA: 20th Century.
