Note: Max Pechstein's significance as a major figure in German Expressionist art was well established by 1933 when his work was banned by the political regime, which included sixteen of his works in the infamous Entartete Kunst ("Degenerate Art") exhibition of 1937. Created in 1947 not long after the end of the war, this very dark, colorful impression of the black over blue/green lithograph from the edition of 100 was published by Graphik-Verlag Dr. Heinrich Mock, Alterburg, Thuringen, with publisher's stamp verso. Condition:
Very good condition overall with very light toning from former matting. Hinged to backing board and matted. The Ismar Littmann Family Collection was originally amassed by famed German patron of the arts and attorney Ismar Littmann and then later by other family members.
