ANTIQUE SILK AND WATERCOLOR PICTORIAL NEEDLEWORK, SCOTLAND Circa 1830, worked in multi-color silk and wool threads and watercolor on silk, depicting a Highlands scene with a shepherd, his maiden, his flock of sheep, and two children as they listen to a bagpiper with his dog beneath a spreading tree in front of his cottage, with mountain range and lake in the background, the figures brightly attired in the traditional clothing of the region and with very finely rendered watercolor detailing to faces, conservation mounted and presented in a molded frame with gilt liner.

The regiment was created under the Childers Reforms in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 91st (Argyllshire Highlanders) Regiment of Foot and 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot.
