JAMES HINKS & SONS GILT BRONZE FIGURAL OIL LAMP James Hinks and Sons (English 1858-1925), Victorian gilt bronze oil lamp, second half 19th century, now electrified, having a scalloped colorless anthemion cut glass shade and olive cut bowl, the urn form body with nickel plated font, and decorated with fruiting swags and cavorting putto on dolphins flanked by hippocampi above satyr masks issuing foliate arms, rising on a cartouche and shell socle plinth with concave four part base, the burner and knob marked. Provenance: : From the Collection of Bruce Cusmano, Metropolitan Artifacts, Atlanta, Georgia. Approximate measurements: overall h. 31", w. 11. 75", d. 8. 5".
