A unique, beautifully calligraphed book celebrating this prestigious union and the genealogy of its participants which took place at Schönbrunn, the Imperial palace in Vienna in 1768. Bound in contemporary full polished calf ruled and decorated in gilt on the upper and lower covers with a morocco title label and six raised bands with seven compartments housing elaborate floral devices on the spine, all edges gilt. A handsome, Napoleonic Era map of the Holy Roman Empire, depicted in the year before its dissolution in August 6, 1806, after its defeat at the hands of Napoleon. The territory on the map is still shown divided into the administrative unit of the Holy Roman Empire, the Circle, first established in 1500.
