Angliæ, Carolina, Virgina et Pennsylvaniæ necnon Insvlarvm Archipelagi Mexicani in America Septentrionali," JOHANN BAPTIST HOMANN (1664-1724), NUREMBERG, 17TH/18TH CENTURY, hand colored engraving, with three vignettes, the upper left cartouche with an image of an indigenous king holding a bow and arrow, seated atop a bale of cotton, tobacco leaves, fur pelts, and rum barrels, his foot rests on cut lumber, above him unfurls a buffalo pelt with, a personification of human labor and fish of plenty flanking the chief, at right a mountainous landscape is worked by human labor in the background of citrus and porcelain trading between social leaders, and at bottom left is likely a scene from the War of Jenkin's Ear, plate: 19 1/2" x 23 1/4".
