(2) MISC. KNIVES IN LEATHER SCABBARDS A lot of two different knives, likely of Middle Eastern origin. The first is a single edged 12" blade with crude engravings and a relief carving of a four-legged animal near the base, possibly a horse. It is mounted to a silver handle with shell inlay. It is in overall fair condition with heavy surface rust and a few knicks to the blade. The second is a double-edged 11" dagger with a brass and carved horn handle. It is far simpler in its design and is in overall fair condition some gouges and numerous knicks and chips along one edge.

Horsier: circa 1860, officer's sabre, 32" blade, T. Horsier Solingen, proved, marked on the ricasso of this imported sword. The blade iron proof etched with "U.S." within a floral panel, the opposite side etched with eagle and shield with patriotic banner. Iron hilt and scabbard, the later engraved with what appears to be a period inscription "Presented to Lt. Matthew Hardie by the men of Tx 28th Cav Co E" in four line inscription. Very good overall.
