Peerless fashion photographer Horst P. Horst was born Horst Paul Albert Bohrmann on August 14, 1906 in Weißenfels-an-der-Saale, Germany. Before launching his prolific career Vogue magazine in 1931, Horst studied architecture with the famed master Le Corbusier in Paris. Upon his move to New York in 1927, Horst began to collaborate with Coco Chanel, developing a professional and personal relationship that would last decades. Known for his glamorous shots of fashionable women, Horst is considered a master of the medium, receiving in 1989 the Lifetime Achievement Award of The Council of Fashion Designers of America, and, in 1996, the Master of Photography Award from the International Center for Photography.
CONDITION
The print appears in overall very good original condition. Hinged twice at the top. Several horizontal lines of surface dirt at either central edge. Some very light handling to the perimeter. One 2-mm stain / fingerprint mark to the lower right margin.

The print appears in overall very good original condition. Hinged twice at the top. Scattered crease marks at the perimeter. Minor waviness to the lower margin. In raking light, the impression of an inscription in ballpoint pen apparent at the lower left. Otherwise, no significant issues apparent to the naked eye.
