Browned metal scabbard. 30.5'' blade length with etched panels of military motifs. Nickel-plated scabbard. Both are early with folding guards. Condition: Excellent.

Leather and brass wire wrapped handle. Chased brass pommel chased brass knuckle bow and cupped guard. Metal scabbard with brass fittings. Marked on the drag ''6'' and SWP. Condition: Sword is excellent overall. Scabbard has some speckling of patina mixed with the original nickel finish.

Model 1872 Springfield Light Cavalry Officer's Sword 34" blade with etched panels of military motifs.?In a rectangular panel is marked Horstmann Philadelphia.?Shagreen and gilt brass wire wrapped handle with gilt chased pommel and three-fingered guard. Metal scabbard with chased brass fittings and drag. Condition: Blade and handle are in excellent condition. Blade retains 98% of the nickel finish. Nickel scabbard is speckled with storage rust. Overall excellent example of an early light cavalry sword.

Case colored lock marked with an eagle and U.S. Springfield and dated 1864. ?Walnut stock?with a oval cartouche of HCH.? Condition: Barrel is bright with some very light staining.??Breechblock retains most of the blackened finish. Lockplate?and hammer retain most of the case coloring just slightly faded. ?Stock is excellent with nice cartouche and open-grained look.
