He was a friend of both Albert Einstein and Salvador Dali; Halsman collaborated with Dali on several projects including "Dali Atomicus." From the 1940s through the 1970s his photographs of celebrities and politicians graced the covers of many magazines including Life, Esquire, Saturday Evening Post, and later, Time. Halsman died in NYC in 1979.
