PAIR OF HUNT & ROSKELL STERLING MASTER SALTSEngland, both of compressed circular form rising to reeded rims, raised on a trio of cabriole supports on pad feet, one with minor dents. Both engraved with presentation 'By Lieutenant J.C. Shirley 1864' - 'Prince of Wales Royal Canadian Regiment'. The undersides bearing London hallmarks with date letter for 1844, together with makers & retailer marks for noted London silversmiths & Jewelers - Hunt & Roskell, late Storr, Mortimer & Hunt. Dimensions, 2 1/4" high x 3 3/4" diameter. Combined weight, 351 grams or 11.28 troy ounces.

PAIR OF ENGLISH VICTORIAN JOHN HUNT AND ROBERT ROSKELL PARCEL-GILT STERLING FIGURAL COMPOTS, COAT-OF-ARMS OF THE GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY AND BARONETS OF GOOCH, LONDON, DATED 1872 9 ½" x 7 ¾" Custom made pair of sterling parcel-gilt figural compots, dedicated to commemorate the Great Western Railway and its Chairman Sir Daniel Gooch, 1st Baronet; fashioned in the Renaissance Revival style, baluster form stem supporting round urn shape bowl with beaded border highlights, flanked with fully sculpted male and female figures in 18th century garments, on tapered quatrefoil base, applied nautical cable (the baronetcy was conferred on him in recognition of his services to the successful submersion of the Atlantic Telegraph Cables of 1865 and 1866); adorned with double armorial shields with of Coat-of-arms of the Great Western Railway, incorporating the shields and crests of the cities of London (left) and Bristol (right), and coat-of-arms of Baronets of Gooch on the opposite side. Lavishly decorated in carved High Renaissance style leaf and foliate design with applied patina; crystal bowls of choice can be selected additionally. Fully marked with John Hunt and Robert Roskell hallmark, Queen's head, lion passant, leopard head and date letter (for 1872) on each base and bowl, also marked Hunt & Roskell 6118 on the base rim. Total weight 121.43 toz.
Provenance: old prominent private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, by descent in the family.

Sold with a four-piece de Lamerie-style George V tea and coffee service by Suckling Ltd. (Birmingham, 1929-32) comprised of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, and open sugar bowl; 60.5 ozt (gross weight).
Service marked to bodies and covers.

PAUL STORR STERLING SERVING DISHES FOR STORR & MORTIMERThe pair of Georgian sterling silver footed serving dishes with lobed and dished centers encircled by an applied rim of shells and rococo swirls are each stamped Storr & Mortimer. The rims are engraved with a family crest and the two are numbered 1 and 2 in series. Each bears the stamped hallmarks of London, 1826, sovereign's head and the Paul Storr maker's hallmark.Measure 2 x 11 inches each, total weight 69.70 ozt.Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair, monogram or heavy wear.Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.

Good Victorian Hunt and Roskell Sterling Silver Kettle-on-Stand, hallmarked London, 1863-1864, by John Samuel Hunt, the large, squat, ovoid body decorated on the upper half with a broad band of repousse flowers and acanthus cartouches on a diapered ground and centering on a vacant reserve, with a gooseneck spout and hinged, domed lid en suite, the latter with cast floral finial, with arched C-scroll handle with cast acanthus mounts and ivory insulators, the whole tilting on or removing from, by means of two chain-anchored pins, a domed base en suite with three cast acanthus-scroll legs separated by openwork floral swags, joined to a central burner frame, h. 16", l. 12", dia. 8", 70.47 t. oz.

Estimate ?400-600 Picture with fishing boat and wreck suffering from a graze in the rock to the foreground and also other light flaking of paint scattered elsewhere rather dirty and certainly needs a clean one small hole knocked through to the right at the right hand fishing boat title inscribed on back of canvas. Other image in better condition still needing a clean and with a few minor paint flakes both in original gilt gesso laurel border frames which are basically intact but do require some restoration.
