PARTIAL DINNER SERVICE COALPORT KING'S PLATEA partial dinner service of Coalport "King's Plate" pattern, each beautifully gilt decorated with a grapevine motif, in very good condition, to include: 8 dinner plates, 11 salad/dessert plates, 11 bread plates, 12 bouillon cups and 10 saucers, 12 teacups and 11 saucers, 12 fruit nappies, salt & pepper shakers, teapot, creamer and sugar. All in excellent condition. Provenance, Fine Ottawa home.

CIVIL WAR OFFICER HALF-PLATE TINTYPE1/2 plate tin showing a man in what appears to be a U.S. Union junior officer's frock coat with epaulettes and a leather belt with the Union insignia with a sword. The buttons and sword are hand colored with gold. Hinged case with red velvet lining, hinge and hook closures intact, remnants of gilt decoration on edges. Mat decorated with birds and floral boughs. Sight size approx. 3-1/2" L x 4-3/4" H, case 4-3/4" L x 6" H. Wear to case, darkening around the edges of the image, and some lighscratching. We have not removed this image from the case. This item can be shipped in-house.

TWO ARMORIAL PORCELAIN PLATES One large platter, white ground with blueish hue, gilt rim and quartered shield to the border, four images within, including floral sprig, rampant lion, armored arm with sword, and the side of a castle, 5-point crown at top. Impressed on the underside,"8 / II / 55", 1 ½" x 12 ¾". Second plate with border having cobalt blue acanthus leaves outlined in gilt, with gilt rim and on the border is a griffin head with a key in its mouth and three half-moons on it's body, a stag's head, and a greyhound above a banner with the motto "Fidem Parit Integritas", otherwise unmarked, 1" x 8 ¾".

Dia: 9 1/2 in. PROVENANCE: Gift of Mrs. Edward Browning, 1958 Sold by the order of the Board of Trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to benefit acquisitions funds. Five plates with rim chips. Four plates with hairlines; one with restoration. All plates with some loss to gilt and enamel.

TWO FULLY CASED DAGUERREOTYPES, A HALF-PLATE AND A SIXTH PLATE Circa 1850, the larger image captures a realistic painting of a well-dressed gentleman and is placed under glass behind a textured octagonal brass mat (Case 6 x 4-3/4 in.) (Not examined out of its sealed mount, the glass over the image seems to have fine pitting throughout, though it could be an illusion; also, specs of debris under the glass are doubled as a result of being reflected by the polished silver plate; the matt with areas of verdigris throughout); the sixth plate is of a serious older gentleman dressed for serious business, again, in a sealed mount (Case 3-3/4 x 3-1/8 in.) (an exceptionally clear image beset by debris reflecting from the glass overlay; verdigris is present on the mat.)
