With Thrilling Adventures and Experiences On The Great Plains and In The Mountains Of Our Wide Frontier. Aide-de-camp to General Sherman. With An Introduction by General Sherman. Fully illustrated with portraits on steel, full page engravings on wood, and fine chromo-lithograph plates. Fascinating late 19th-century account of the lives and customs of Native American Indians written by Richard Dodge, a military aide to General Sherman who spent most of his career in the American West. This book is a broad discussion of practices and lifestyles of native American tribes including Apache, Sioux, Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Kiowa, and Comanche people. Includes mysterious Indian medicine and sacred rituals descriptions of Indian culture. Brown Leather bound gold gilt hardcover is in good overall condition, cover appears repaired, scuffing exhibited to cover and edges.
