KEITH HARING "INVITATION TO PARTY OF LIFE", 1984 Keith Haring (American, 1958-1990) "Invitation to Party of Life", 1984, color silkscreen on linen handkerchief, with invitation envelope, housed in a black frame. Image: 12" H x 12" W; frame: 31" H x 24.5" W. Provenance: From a Financial District collection. Note: Keith Haring held a "Party of Life" birthday party each year from 1984 to 1986. Filmmaker Courtney Harmel captured the inaugural event, held on 16 May at the Paradise Garage nightclub on King Street, New York. The party was co-hosted by resident DJ Larry Levan, and featured performances by Madonna and John Sex.

A Hand Written Dinner Invitation by Oscar Wilde New York 1882 In 1882 26 year old Oscar Wilde toured more than 150 venues in North America bringing "culture to the masses " through a series of letters on aestheticism. While in New York Wilde lived rented furnished rooms in Greenwich Village at 48 West 11th Street. It was from this residence when this hand written dinner invitation was penned. The hexagonal folded water-marked stationary with addressee label affixed to verso with hand written note by Wilde himself. Text reads "Dear T (al?) Will you give me the pleasure of dining with me at 6:30 tonight-here- Truly yours Oscar Wilde 48. West 11th". Paper size 9" x 11". Ex-collection Peter Keisogloff to present owner.
