CHINA: ENGLISH IRONSTONE, "MOSS ROSE" PATTERN, MOST C. 1870, FIFTEEN PIECES OF ASSORTED SERVING DISHES, ALL WITH PINK ROSE MOTIF FEA...CHINA: English Ironstone, "Moss Rose" pattern, most c. 1870, fifteen pieces of assorted serving dishes, all with pink rose motif featuring hand-painted polychrome decoration on brown transfer design laid on off-white ground, some marked on base, details include: tureen with ladle and cover, pierced flanking handles and additional to cover, black glazed maker's mark to base, 10" h. x 13" l.; platter with scalloped corners, heavy loss of gilt trim, 17" l.; teapot with domed top, chip to spout, 9 1/2" h.; rectangular sauce tureen with pierced seashell decoration to handles and lid, lid cracked, flakes to rim, 9" l.; round platter with pierced handles, no mark, newer, 10" diam.; oval tureen under tray, raised leaf decoration, black stamp to base, 14 1/4" l.; oval platter with central swag decoration, illegible impressed round stamp verso, 17 5/8" l.; two small round plates, 7 3/8" diam.; cup and saucer, saucer with black maker's mark "M. & Co." with British lion and unicorn, 6" diam.; and two individual salt dishes, one round and one square, larger: 3" diam., all pieces with wear consistent with age and use including craquelure of glaze, occasional flakes, etc., sold as is.
